Privacy Policy – Jewel ID
Effective Date: February 26, 2026
Last Updated: February 26, 2026
Jewel ID ("Jewel ID," "we," "us," or "our") provides AI-powered jewelry identification and valuation services through our mobile application and related services (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the App.
If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.
1) Controller / Contact
Jewel ID is the controller for personal information processed in connection with the App unless stated otherwise.
Contact email: tipscraftapps@gmail.com
2) Information We Collect
We aim to minimize personal data. You can use the App without providing your name or email address.
A. Photos You Submit for Analysis
- Photos of jewelry you capture with your camera or select from your photo library for identification and valuation.
B. Anonymous Account Identifier
- We use an anonymous identifier to operate the App (e.g., to associate analysis requests with your session/device and manage entitlements).
- We do not require you to create an account with a name, email address, or phone number.
C. Subscription / Purchase Information
- Subscriptions are handled through Apple In-App Purchases. We do not receive your payment card details.
- We may receive subscription status/entitlement signals (e.g., whether you have an active subscription) to enable premium features.
D. App Usage & Analytics (Firebase Analytics)
- We use Firebase Analytics to understand app usage and performance (e.g., feature usage, basic performance metrics).
- Analytics may include device/app information such as device model, OS version, language, app version, approximate region, and event data (what features were used and when).
E. Support Communications
- If you email us, we collect the information you provide in your message (e.g., email address and message content).
3) How We Use Information
We use information to:
- Provide and operate the App
- Analyze photos of jewelry to provide identification, material analysis, and estimated valuations.
- Manage access and subscriptions
- Validate entitlement and enable premium features.
- Improve performance and reliability
- Understand feature usage, improve UX, diagnose issues, and optimize the service.
- Maintain security and prevent abuse
- Protect the App and users (fraud/abuse detection, service integrity).
- Provide customer support
- Respond to inquiries and resolve issues.
- Comply with legal obligations
- Meet legal requirements and enforce terms.
4) How Photo Analysis Works
When you submit a photo for analysis:
- Your photo is sent to a secure AI service (Google Gemini API) for identification and analysis.
- The AI analyzes the image to identify jewelry type, materials, gemstones, style, era, and provide an estimated valuation.
- We return the analysis results to you within the App.
Important:
- Photos are sent to the AI service for analysis and are not permanently stored on our servers.
- We do not use submitted photos for identity verification or facial recognition.
- AI-generated valuations are estimates only and should not be considered professional appraisals.
5) Sharing / Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information.
We share information only as necessary:
A. Service Providers (Processors)
We use service providers to operate the App and deliver analysis. They process data on our behalf under contractual and security obligations.
Categories include:
- Google (Gemini API): AI-powered image analysis for jewelry identification
- Firebase (Google): analytics and cloud functions
- RevenueCat: subscription management and entitlement confirmation
- Apple: subscription purchase processing
Subprocessors list: We maintain a list of current subprocessors and will provide it upon request at tipscraftapps@gmail.com.
B. Legal / Safety
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security (e.g., responding to lawful requests, preventing fraud/abuse).
C. Business Transfers
If we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to appropriate safeguards.
6) Data Retention
We retain data only as long as needed for the purposes described above.
A. Photos Submitted for Analysis
- Photos sent for AI analysis: transmitted to the AI service for processing and not permanently stored on our servers.
- Google Gemini API: processes images according to Google's data retention policies for API calls.
B. Vault Data (Local Storage)
- Jewelry items you save to your vault are stored locally on your device (including images and analysis results).
- Vault data remains on your device until you delete it through the App or uninstall the App.
C. Analytics & Technical Data
We retain analytics and technical data as long as reasonably necessary for app performance, security, and improvement, subject to our configuration and provider retention options.
D. Support Emails
We retain support communications as long as necessary to address your request and for reasonable follow-up.
7) International Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required (for example, for EEA/UK transfers), we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms (such as adequacy decisions and/or Standard Contractual Clauses) and can provide more information upon request.
8) Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards, including encryption in transit (TLS), access controls, and operational security practices. No system can be guaranteed 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using commercially reasonable measures.
9) Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
10) Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version and revise the "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the App after the update means you accept the revised policy.

In some cases, we may be unable to link certain technical logs to a specific individual if those logs are stored in an aggregated or non-identifiable form.
